Coatesville Municipalities Awarded Grant for Future Planning

Coateville Area (Coatesville city, South Coatesville, and Valley township) were among the winners to receive funding through the 2018 Vision Partnership Program from the Chester County Planning Commission for an economic development study.

Other recipients were East Whiteland for a park, recreation, and open space study. Uwchlan for a comprehensive plan, and Honey Brook Borough and Honey Brook Township to complete regulatory amendments.

The Chester County Commissioners established the VPP in 1996 to promote cooperation between the county and local governments in the implementation of the county’s comprehensive plan. The grant program provides financial and technical assistance to municipalities in the preparation of comprehensive plans, ordinances, official maps, and special planning projects, such as connectivity plans, open space plans, economic development studies, historic surveys, and corridor plans.
